Even though LG has been involved in a number of launches in the high-end smart phone segment for the past few months, it is in the mid-range segment that LG is very comfortable in. One can easily find this by taking a look at the number of good phones that LG has in this range. The LG Optimus One P500 is certainly one of them and taking on good look at the features will reveal that it is probably the most value for money mobile phone to be launched by any manufacturer in recent times. There are plenty of features that will keep you hooked to the phone for hours.
One such feature is the 3.2 inch touch screen display that is capacitive. To get a touch screen display in this segment is great and it is a double whammy if it is a capacitive one. Other than that, it is the basic TFT display and there are no latest technologies being used. It is quite evident at LG has looked to save some cost by going for the tried and tested technologies. This screen is capable of handling images at 320 x 480 pixels resolution and this is more than what you can expect from a mobile phone at the segment. Further, the accelerometer and proximity sensor resemble features of the high-end phone rather than a midrange phone. Even in terms of dimensions, the phone is pretty well made and it hides the massive features within it quite brilliantly. The dimensions are 113.5 x 59 x 13.3 mm, while the weight is just under 130 g.
This makes the LG Optimus One P500 one of the most compact phones in this segment today and you will truly enjoy the experience of using this phone. Looking at the 170 MB of internal memory, you will be thinking that LG has disappointed the users with this regard. However, once you take the look at the 2 GB memory card provided and also the capability of supporting up to 32 GB via this process makes it great. There is a 600 MHz processor that will be used to run the Android 2.2 operating system, but here lies the best part about the LG Optimus One P500. You will not only be able to use the Android 2.2, but LG is offering the upgrade to the Android 2.3 operating system as well. It should be one of the most affordable phones to the running on the Android 2.3 operating system, which has so far been seen in the likes of LG Optimus 2X and Motorola Atrix.
The 512 MB of RAM available make this possible to some extent along with the powerful processor. Other features of the phone include a 3.2 megapixel camera and a 1500 mAh battery. The phone is currently available in the United Kingdom after it was launched in October. This phone is available under contract options with various network providers like orange and Vodafone for around ? 12 a month.
